This subject has been done to death, I'm afraid cats in these are known to be valuable.

Mine also got robbed from my saloon 850R a few months back, from a well lit residential street! They don't care whether it's a 4x4 or not - they're lightening quick regardless.

Yeah they're definitely worth a few bob and the older cars and easier to remove and have more precious metals inside.

I'd highly recommend installing a cat-guard once you have replaced the cat, as there have been cases of repeat attacks on the same vehicles. I had a 6mm steel plate cut and fit to protect the replacement cat this time (along with welding the bolts to make it harder to chop them off) Yes it does creak now and then as the car moves about (as the chassis bends and flexes) but it gives me a greater piece of mind knowing it'll act as a deterrent. A few manufacturers have started selling cat-guards online, Volvo not yet.

I've got a 1998 Pre Me7 S70 and it's got 2 02 sensors mate, Pre Cat and Post Cat, My 95 850 T5 is Pre Cat only, Cheers.
