Only caught the end of the second episode before the race, 30 seconds and crashed? Well I'm sure if you watched for an hour that was worth it, haha. At least he raced in the first episode.

It's better than most of the crap on the tv at the moment, which isn't saying much. 'RuPaul's Drag Race' on the BBC, anyone? Good thing I don't pay the tv licence for this ****e.

Bring back Scrapheap Challenge and have Guy Martin on one team and Edd China on the other. Or Robot Wars with either of them hosting it.
I liked the Ape episode/apisode? Ed China? Possibly the most boring TV presenter ever!!

I was rather underimpressed with the Ape episode last night. Whilst I think Guy Martin is a more than capable mechanic and racer, it seems they want to portray him as a bumbling fool in the workshop and a risk taker on the track. It's all about the TV formula I suppose, many of the 'fly on the wall' garage programmes seem to be slipping towards a soap opera approach.

Guy's quite the opposite, at least when it comes to bikes and trucks. Absolutely meticulous about bike prep and it took him a long time to adjust to handing the tools over to a professional mechanic. Unsurprising I guess when your life is literally in their hands if they balls it up and it seizes at 200mph on Sulby.

Anyone remember Thunder Races on Discovery about 15 years ago?

Well that's true, but I was thinking more like a straight man character against Guy's more gung ho attitude. There isn't that many people who are relatively well known to draw in an audience, as well as being mechanically minded and can build things. Maybe Colin Furze instead?
