Default Unknown dashboard symbol

Strange one today.

Forgot to secure the boot sliding cover in place before driving off, so pulled over, opened the boot, secured it, closed the boot and drove off.

When I drove off I noticed a white dashboard symbol of a car just to the right of the outside temp display. It stayed there for about 30 seconds and then disappeared. (I Did a mock-up picture below. The symbol of the car was a top of car view.)

Looked at the XC60 MY22 online manual and there is no reference to a symbol like this.

Any ideas?

Default Dash symbol

If it is the top view of your car it is possibly the status symbol to indicate open doors, bonnet, boot, occupied seats , seat belts in use or not
Open a door with engine running to see if it appears

Just got into the car and started it and the same small white car symbol is there once again. It appears to be a micro-version of the large car display you get in the middle of the dash. It mimics the large car display e.g. take off your seatbelt and the large display shows a red driver’s seat and the small white car symbol shows a little red square where the drivers seat is.

Has this always been there and I’ve just never noticed it before today? Or is it something new that has just suddenly decided to appear?

It has been there since the June's (last year) software update. You have MY22 which means you have had it since you have the car.

Many thanks - I was obviously having a senior moment

On another topic, do you happen know if the Standard MY22 sound system on the XC60 Inscription has a basic "Fader" control for front/rear speaker sound output??

Cheers

Don't worry about that, I am still finding things or noticing things on my car after five and a half years. It was only a week or so ago I noticed there are no interior lock buttons on the rear doors.

I've had multiple software updates over the last 9 months, the little version of the car was there from about July until it was in at the dealer in January and the little car has now gone again. It wasn't of any use anyway.
