How do I remove the CD player? Idiots guide Please.
XC90 SE 2006 vintage. CD player removal.
New Member, Old codger (71)! First time Volvo owner, with reasonable DIY skills! Absolutely delighted with his new, just run in 111 k motor: The in dash 6 disc player tells me every disc that I put in is "Unreadable" so would like to remove it and get it repaired. Have tried a cleaner disc to no avail. The disc doesn't seem to be revolving. Not wishing to do any damage in the process, I am seeking a step by step guide Please. An IDIOTS guide is what I need!!! Thanks in anticipation. |

Thanks Ron, Stirling stuff!
Not nearly as daunting as I had imagined. This week-end project then. Thanks again. |

Thanks Dave and Peter!
I told you that I needed an Idiots guide!
Hadn't even considered disconnecting the battery once I'd put the gear selector in the drive position. Extremely greatful for that snippet! Is it sufficient to disconnect the battery at the engine bay end or should I go the whole hog and disconnect at the battery itself? Sounds a bit like the old pre-war Citroen my father had, where if you wanted to remove the radiator you had to start by removing the boot lid!!! Thanks Peter too, will be in touch for your welcome help. What a helpful bunch you all are at the club. Toby |

the volvo instructions tell you to just disconnect at the battery, negative first then positive, when reconnecting put the key in position 2 and connect positive first then negative, hope this helps

Hi Dave, May be too late as have taken it out already!!! Did still have the battery connected until it came to the unplugging of everything tho!
Hope I dont get too many spurious messages. If I do I'll get back to you for help if I may. Never the less thanks. Toby. |
