Default First post in a while - New Car Incoming

Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while, but in 10 days time will be picking up a 20-plate (1,500 miles) V60 D4 R-design Plus with nearly every option ticked.

Bought it this morning from TMS Coventry, who were great (never bought from them before).

Going to get the Polestar optimisation done before I pick it up, as I have on the XC60, just cos it massively improves the driveability IMO.

Really looking forward to getting it; first new car in over 5 years, so very excited. The XC60 has been great, but I think Volvo have come on leaps and bounds since my current car was built.

Will post pics when it arrives

Cheers,

SJ

Picked up the car this morning.

Already love it.

It's fully loaded. Pretty much every option ticked except the adaptive suspension. It's an R design + so originally had 20s on it which TMS Coventry swapped for standard R design 18s for me (shout out to TMS they have been very good with everything including the handover today).

Bowers and Wilkins system was a must for me and is awesome

Still playing with all the features but I love this car. Particularly Polestar mode......

Good to see another sensible person who hates the over wheeled top of the range cars which destroys ride quality and handling!

Got a base xc90 r-design for the 20" wheels and then added in the bits I wanted as the 22" wheels on the pro model are stupid and so easily bent with potholes!

Its not over wheeling that is the problem per se. It is the failue of somemanufacturers to adjust spring and damping rates on vehicles with larger rims that causes the problem.

Sounds a great car, I hope you have many happy years of enjoyment from it.

Does that first line mean that anyone who wants bigger wheels is therefore not sensible? even if it suits their use and preference?

18s on my XC70, 21s on my SQ5, 20s on my RS4..... clearly my sense levels fluctuate....

Only 17s on my Mini and 14s on my 206, I must have some days better than others.....

What’s the torque and 0-62mph figure post-Polestar on a D4 V60?

Tbh with the state of roads it's not so much the size of the wheel but the depth of the sidewall that matters these days

440nm torque
0-62 drops by 0.1s to 7.8s apparently

But that isn't why you do it - I've posted on other threads about what it does to the rev range on the whole.

The difference is night and day
