Unhappy 97 AWD V70 Steering/brake problem?

New to the forum but in hope ! My 97 AWD has developed a "twitch" and local garage doesn't seem to be able to get to grips with it. On applying footbrake at about 50 mph the steering wheel twitches disconcertingly momentarily but brakes straight and right (they're all new pads and discs, pipes fluid. Gives the sensation of skating but can't identify it - awd problem ?Any thoughts would be much appreciated. thanks

welcome m8, have you checked track rod ends, top shock mounts, bottom ball joints, anti roll bushes, does,nt sound like brakes,if they are new, ave you tried jacking each front wheel and spinning to see if your discs are true, need to get some one to gently apply brake while you spin wheel, you soon see if its true, or it,ll rub on one part of discs, is there any blueing visable on discs?? just a few thing to check m8

what wheels are on the car are they the standard ones with 205/55/16 as my old one did this with 225/45/17 on and the blue one i have is fine with the wider tyres
