Default V70 AWD Geartronic Flaring in Neutral & Drive

Hi,

My V70 has for a couple of months now done about 3 short rev flares from about 800 revs to 12/1300 revs when returning to neutral after driving and nothing more.
Changing gears themselves has be absolutely fine automatically or using manual mode.

Today however an amber gearbox symbol has lit on the dashboard and the flaring is staying more constant for a few minutes whether in neutral of drive (1st, 2nd or 3rd).
Once driving after 3rd it's not noticeable. After a few mins the flaring tends stop tho light stays on, though it can return later without warning whether after a few miles or not.
Drives otherwise ok and even with this problem the gears themselves change perfectly with no clunks or otherwise - 125k miles 2004 2.5T AWD.

Does anyone know if this is more likely a gearbox problem or could it be an engine management issue?

I only feel it's gearbox related due to the amber gearbox lamp on?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Jeff

Gearbox, start with a check of the fluid level when the car has been driven at least 20 miles to heat the engine and box up fully - Mike
