Ok got gear box dip stick sorted today , topped the oil in the box back up and thought I'll give it a run as its not been started for a couple of weeks , turned the key expecting it to start first time as it always as done but no it wasn't having none of it , it just kept trying to fire up but didn't .

This went on for a bout half an hour and then with a fresh battery it a plenty more trys it started but would not idle, so I give it a run about 10 miles and it run lovely but still would not idle .

It will rev clean and pull strong but when in drive at a stand still it will fight to keep running put it in neutral and it will just die.

Any ideas please ?

Is the Idle control valve plugged in? Did you unplug it to do the dipstick?
