Well after a few posts asking for advice and some very good replies I am now the proud owner of this:
It's a 2002 T5 GT. It's far from pristine with the leather showing a few cracks where it's obviously never had any conditioner on it, some strange damage to the drivers door card I couldn't explain and a small wear patch about the size of a 5p on the hood that's been repaired, but only got 49k miles on it and drives really nicely. The deal has been done but I'm not picking it up until saturday because they are re-balancing the tyres tomorrow as there was a slight wobble through the steering. It was up for £3,250 originally, than he dropped the price yesterday to £2,750 and I got it for £1,250 plus my old Mondeo, which if I'm being honest is probably more than it was worth as a trade in. All in I'm really happy and looking forward to enjoying the summer!

Thanks, I specifically wanted black with the cream interior so I'm really pleased I managed to get it. It is true that the cream shows the cracks a lot more but there is just something about that combination I really like. I will be out there with the leather conditioner to try to bring it back to life a bit. Good weather would be nice but I think the top will be down with the first bit of sun!

I've never tried it myself but i was told by a valeter that if you wet a small towel and ring it out and then microwave it till its steaming then just lay it on the leather it brings the cracks out. Like i said i've never tried it myself but he seemed to know what he was talking about and be careful when you take the towel out of the microwave its gonna be really hot.

Looks nice, Mike. I guess it was a T5 after all! If it didn't come with the wind break it's well worth getting one as it transforms driving the car with the roof down. We've driven ours across continental Europe at three figure speeds with the roof down, the wind break up, and the Dolby system blasting away. Hard to beat!
And something to look out for is an aerial down switch. Volvo don't list it any more so you'd have to find a s/hand one. But it allows you to listen to CDs, or external devices like an iPod that are hooked into the car audio system, without having the aerial up. Not a big deal, but neat nonetheless. Enjoy!

![]() As for the aerial switch, I can see myself just fitting a hidden push switch somewhere probably, the proper switch seems quite rare now volvo have stopped making it and I can pick up a push switch for a couple of pounds from Maplin Thanks. And you're right, there is no comparison really. The Mondeo was very well equipped and had more toys than the C70, but the overall experience is so much better with the C70. It drives so much smoother and more refined than the Mondeo. The C70 is very much more a drivers car you can have pleasure cruising around in. The Mondeo is good at it's job, but it's job is a mass produced reps car to get you to work and back with a decent mpg, where's the fun in that!
