Yes, I remember that one Laney

James it is an Invicta 'Bradford' red enamelled job. Looks nice. I have a much smaller Invicta one myself. That I bought in Nantes, and it came home in the back of Tank, some 50+ miles.....

This one is only 10 mins from the chaps house along country lanes.

I have ratchet straps, so will secure it if it goes in. Supplier has a mini-fork lift to get it in. Unloading will be the 'interesting ' part......

Looks likely to be tomorrows job....

Fork lifts and lifting tailgates aren't a good match either............

The weight itself is no problem, but the main difficulty with a single heavy object is simply sliding it in without damaging anything.

I'd put down a large sheet of thin plywood and then spread a blanket. The pallet will slide more easily on it.

Default Best Laid plans and all that......

....... It never happened. On the pallet it was a few millimetres to high to go in..... The chap tried to put it in minus the pallet. It went in... but I feared the little feet in each corner would probably go straight through the wood deck without the pallet to spread the weight.

So, Stove 1 - Tank 0.

Went to hire a van from the supermarket, but needed passport and household bill etc etc....which neither of us had.... So wood stove collection Part 2 will be tomorrow...
