It's on the order form that the car was ordered with walnut, is that form generated by the system itself?

I'm not convinced that the trim will arrive in time but we'll see.

Not sure, just wondered in case it was a dealer error.

XC90 Price List is still at Edition 3. Walnut still standard.

V90 has within the last couple of days been upgraded to Edition 4. Main changes were adding R Design, availability of Active 4C, addition of Maple Brown Metallic.

After reading this tread I looked again, more closely and sure enough the Metal Mesh is now standard, with the Walnut or Birch as no-cost alternatives.

Sticky-back plastic failure and gesture tailgate not working with repositioned sensor.

Bummer about the fitting, hope it gets sorted. What colour bodywork did you go for? Got any pictures?

I seem to have a pretty good success rate with the tailgate. Facing the left rear corner square on, I aim directly below the corner of the rear light cluster, where it changes direction from side to boot. I just tried again and got it four out of four, two opens, two closes.

Got a call from the dealer today saying that the walnut trim that was ordered about 3 months ago for the dash will be leaving Sweden next week and will arrive with them soon after.

The door trim is another matter entirely as it will have to be re-ordered for the replacement car. Goodness knows when that'll arrive.

I ordered a T6 Inscription with walnut trim on 17 August. Having read this thread I've just emailed my dealer to check I'll get the walnut. He's replied:

"I have double checked and yes the supply of the walnut inlay is extremely low however I can confirm that your car is being built around the 26/09 and this means that the car will have the walnut inlays as standard. I have copied the factory sheet and this confirms build of week 38 so your car will arrive the 1st couple of days in Oct."

So hopefully I'll be OK as there's no way I'd accept metal mesh - personal taste I admit. Volvo are really shooting themselves in the foot if they discontinue the walnut as it's a standout feature of the interior for many customers. I think this must be a cost issue rather than just availability.

I went for Bright Silver, I only took pictures of the outside as the inside had all the plastic bags still on:

Before and after shots of my interior:

Metal Mesh:

Linear Walnut:

I greatly prefer the wood as the metal mesh just got lost against the blond leather.
