No, the economy on the newer T8 Recharge is miles better than the older one but both are more than sufficient for my standards (being more used to 15-20mpg previously). I am currently averaging in the mid 70'smpg on my current car over the last 6500 miles, mostly due to alot of local electric journeys. The figures Volvo quote for Recharge cars economy are in no way achievable in the real world unless you have a charging station available to you at every destination and stop you make.
I dont do massive miles or loads of long journeys so diesels are not for me these days.

The reason why this will likely be my last Volvo is that Volvo no longer sell the Polestar Engineered models in the UK so I will likely be looking elsewhere for something more sporty as the air sprung XC60's just dont handle or ride to my personal liking, far too soft and squidgy for me and way too much body roll but that's down to my own requirements rather than the new models being rubbish or anything.

There were really good contract hire deals on these at the start of the year so they must have "sold" a lot of them. Just wondering if any actually turned up in the end?

No, my lease car ordered in Feb 22, was told it might be available by May/June 22, got delayed and delayed and now lease company saying I should get it by June next year. I am beginning to doubt it will ever turn up.

Yeah I am in a similar position. I have asked Volvo if the model has been discontinued and not been able to get much of an answer from them.

I also tried to message Halfanegg to find out who told him the model was no longer being made but I can't because I have too few posts on this forum.

Bizarre forum design where it lets you spend time typing a DM then tells you after that you are not allowed to send it!
