Fortunately for us discerning buyers, there are still several offered for sale. However, bearing in mind the age of even the youngest now, one might have to be prepared to make a good car perfect. Almost all adverts mention pimples of rust starting on the rear wheel arches and beneath the tailgate.
I agree with you on sunroofs but, from my experience, not auto and not injection of any shape or form; I can strip and rebuild a carb with my eyes shut but injection is a black art best left to experts or not even buying in the first place. My 240 estate fits all your needs except it has a good old simple carb: I don't think the extra gained from having injection is necessary on a workhorse fitted with a 6ft antique-dealers roofrack.... Well I did say significant rust......
I wouldn't rule out a carb either (even if the one on my 340 nearly drove me insane due to the warped base....) Are you selling yours then?

No - besides it has some scabs of rust on the tailgate and a small but noticeable ding on top of the bonnet, as if something heavy fell off the garage shelf onto it. It will never be perfect.
Mine has 290k miles on it, and I think the clutch is on its way out, so last week I bought another: 101k miles, previous elderly owner giving up driving, blowing exhaust but current MoT, for just £100 - bargain ! Will get it ready for use whilst doing clutch on my blue one. The reasons I don't really like this latest car is that it has a (very distracting) glass sunroof, and a Lambda Sond cat in the exhaust. Some of my dislikes... P |

Forgot to say - 340s are known for that problem. Lister-friend on here has one but that seems OK so far, but an avid 340-ite friend near Horsham has had similar problems only last week. Will grill him on cure procedure next Wednesday at Sussex VOC meet.

Both of my 340's are long gone now. The carb on the DL never played up and ran beautifully. The GL was a nightmare and would play up at any time without warning - I never managed to resolve the problem and was glad to see the backside of it.

Velorum - you might see a Volvo or two for sale at the Southern Volvo rally at Popham airfield next Sunday. Not too far from you (further for me) so follow the local guy to you in his sky blue Volvo PV van - he said he'd be there. All Volvo's welcome but don't bring any rain with you !

Off to look at an '88 DL in an hour. Advertised as rust free with FSH.
Looks good in the photos but we shall see. I remember travelling all the way to Leicester about 10 years ago to look at an '85 saloon advertised as a 'show car' - dents in every panel and a great big rust hole in the NS sill................
