Default S60r wont start .

I have a 2003 s60r that was ticking over in the driveway to charge up the battery as it was not being used . Twice the revs dropped and then picked up and the third time it cut out completely and wouldn't restart . Fuel gauge was low so i topped up tank with a gallon of fuel . Engine now started but wouldn't rev up cleanly , a message came up on dash saying ' reduced engine performance ' . I went and got another gallon of fuel thinking that might help but doesn't start at all now . Doesn't fire at all .
I'm thinking that the fuel pump is gone but you can feel it buzzing when you touch it . There is no pressure at fuel rail valve . I bought a fault code reader ( gendan gcr 25 ) but no fault codes are present , though it says fuel pressure is 13.9 psi which seems low to me . I think a new fuel pump would fix it but since they are over £300 , I dont want to chance it if it isn't definately kaput . I also changed the fuel pump relays . I even tried jacking up car front and rear because people have had problems with their cars starting on hills though mine is on a level surface .
I can't tow to a garage as it isn't taxed or insured . Is their anything i can try? Thank for reading .

Ps I dont know about how it drove before as I have never had it on the road as I have just bought it though this was a few months ago . . .

Fuel pressure on an S60R should be 3bar tick over and up to 5bar at wot. They have twin pumps in the tank accessed through a plate under the rear seats. I had to have new pumps and a fuel pressure regulator on the end of the fuel rail.

Can you put a pressure gauge onto the shrader valve on the end of the fuel rail and see what you have.

Try and get someone with Dice/vida to read codes generic ones arent much cop. look on this forum for someone close to you willing to help.

if it was me mate, id be changing the fuel filter first as you say it was empty (ish) you may have dragged some of the sludge through the rail change that and get a bottle of redex shot in there and fire her over it should start after a while just dont crank too long or youl flatten the battery and probs knacker the starter motor lol as i say that would be my first job before buying expensive code readers or getting someone else to look at it hth

That's a good idea . Filter looks quite old so well worth changing . Thanks for the suggestion .
