I meant the whole dipstick. That end is the same. I am 99% sure they are the same, but I just wanted to make 100% sure it is correct

there is nothing else on it as the end disintegrated and was hastily binned. just round all the way to the other end and straight. got to be right as all the others i have seen are different. will put pic up anyways, all i can remember is that the end was orange. numbers on the oil end are 9497560

Checked VIDA and the part number seems to be 9146799 which is the same for many Phase 1 and Phase 2 engines

So good to go ahead

many thanks but with the confusion i phoned volvo and best to pick up new one tomorrow for 11.63 inc vat as different numbers. many thanks for all your help and may well be looking at other things.

Checked the tracking number, it was delivered and signed for this morning. Someone may have taken it in and forgotten to tell you?
