Default Cold weather and wing mirror glass

Just a word of warning for a slightly bizarre fault I got with the cold weather...
I'd flipped in my wing mirror. As I flipped it out again in the freezing cold, the glass fell out!
Probably a combination of age, heated mirrors and the cold weather.

Thumbs up mirror glass

Happend to me in summer,I'd just jumped in the car looked into the passengers mirror to pull away and all i saw was the road!!luckily it fell forward and jammed so used double sided number plate tape to stick it back and has worked a treat. I checked the other one while I was at it and it came away in my fingers!! so that got the same treatment.......that was summer 2010 by the way.

Alas mine fell on the floor at the junction where I was stopped.
Had the guy next to me confused about what caused the sound of smashing glass. Dunno if he could hear my swearing too.

Same happened to me 6 months ago. Bought double-sided trim tape (designed to hold items onto outsides of cars) from eBay, stuck mirror back on, no problems since

Both of mine went in the hot weather too - gues sit softens the glue a bit over time. Both mine went within 1hr of each other - thought someone had been messing with them.
