all volvos have corrosion protection at the factory no need for under seal as this some times traps moisture. creating more problems than it solves. a good water repellent like dinitrol or lanoguard is much better than under seal.

Also an underseal would only be against snow &/or the stuff used to stop cars sliding around on it ... and ain't no snow in Hong Kong.

There'd be years worth of tropical heat while warm salty sea air surrounds the car, along with torrential downpours, but any rust caused by that won't be remedied by any action now IMHO.

I totally concur with Moose Test on the financial check. I looked at a very nice, clean XC70 a few years ago at a rather good price. On further investigation it had finance to the tune of 5 grand on it.

Seller swore blind this was not the case!

Hi all,

Undertook all relevant checks and had bought one train ticket to travel,
with a serious view to purchase the vehicle, then I got a message last night:

To the effect that the leather on the dashboard has wrinkles and crinkles in it- and this was not immediately noticeable as he had been using some sort of leather cover over it.

How he thought this would not seriously effect matters is beyond me. And it was also not picked up on the AA inspection.

Told him to have repaired or deduct from price but I think this will kill the deal from his point of view and to be honest it's put me off purchasing the vehicle anyway. Although if I purchase it will defiitely be a much much lower price!!

Plenty more vehicles to look at though but he should have highlighted this before the AA inspection took place. In fairness I guess I should have viewed the vehicle before the AA inspection and was a bit slack in this regard.

Hey ho!
