C70 T5 questions
My C70 T5 just killed itself, so now looking for another one.
How are the sunroofs on these, do they rattle/leak and do the affect the rigidity/handling of the car? How about the auto on a 99 model, with only winter mode, compared to a 98 model with sport and economy mode as well as winter mode, is there any noticeable loss in acceleration? |

Having a sunroof will not noticably affect the rigidity of the car. Having a convertible roof is a different matter however...
With regard to the gearbox, Winter mode basically means it always sets off in a higher gear - usually 3rd. The later gearboxes don't have a selectable sport mode as the gearbox computer will automatically alter the shift-points and kick down based on how far and how quickly you press the accelerator. i.e. it will select a sport mode profile for you if keep poking it hard enough. As for economy mode, on a T5, it's like running Concorde on 3 engines.

Thanks, great news on the auto box. I have only ever driven one c70 with a sunroof and that was a 2.4T, so altogether more wobbly than a T5, but probably due to softer springs and so, not due to the hole in the roof.
Nice analogy on the economy of a T5 |
