Default Rear fog light bulb changed, still no illumination

Hi all. After recently buying an 09 xc60 I noticed the passenger rear fog light wasn't working. Changed the bulb for a new one this morning but still no luck.

Has anyone had this issue before?

It's not an issue. You only have one rear fog light.

Although there is a bulb and wiring in the left light, it is not active on RHD vehicles.

On LHD vehicles it's the opposite.

Also, or so I have been told, there is a bulb in the "unused" side because if you brake extreamly heavily both the fog lights flash to give extra warning to those behind, never been able to test this!

Both fog lamps operate on my MY16 so perhaps they are both wired up on later years….
