Vibration/grumbling at 1000rpm and noise when turning
Hey every body. Merry boxing day.
I have a 2013 xc60 FL 2.0 d4. At around 1000rpm whether lifting the clutch slightly or just touching the throttle, there is a noticeable grumble/vibration noise coming from the front end. I can't say I feel it in the cabin though. It can do it under load but other than that it drives smooth as per normal. I don't know if it's linked but I have a grumble/rubbing noise when turning ever so slightly right. Say 20ish degrees of steering input, and only at slow speeds such as when turning out of junctions or turning on a small roundabout. Any tighter a turn or any faster and it's not present. It sounds like the nearside front. It's got me stumped and I was wondering if anyone knows of any common issues that cause these symptoms or knows of any definite faults with these? The 2nd issue is more recent than the first which is why I say I'm not sure if it's linked. It may well be a progression of the first issue for all I know though. Thank Jeff |

So according to the garage this is down to my TDV pulley. However, the warranty company won't cover it for some reason. Volvo also want £418 + VAT for the pulley. Is this a common failure on the 2.0 d4 5 cylinders? Does anyone have any access to a parts catalogue or part number so I can cross reference?. Or even just a picture of the TDV not fitted?
The noise when steering appears to be the track rod end which I'm not too worried about. They're not exactly expensive. Thanks Jeff |
