Default Battery trays and battery clamps

I was talking to my dad earlier and suggested we could make battery trays and clamps as these two are common for rotting out. He said we wouldn't be able to do anything soon as he is too busy but potentially next year we could start making battery trays if I can get a decent pair from a breaker. I have a battery clamp here we can use as a template so that's that one sorted.

Is this something people would be interested in?

The trays and clamps are common across all 7/900 series.

I need a clamp. My 740 doesn’t have one and it’s just failed the MOT for one of those reasons.

I can get a clamp made up in the next week or so as I've got the steel here. If yours is missing the big long bolt too then I may have one somehwere but if not then you may have to take a trip to a bolt supplier.

The clamps and long bolts are available from Skandix (check shipping charges) and probably therefore elsewhere including Volvo dealers.

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...steel/1068884/

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...steel/1023212/

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...screw/1023210/

Battery trays may well be worth producing since these seem to be NLA from Volvo and are inclined to rust.

Definitely interested in a battery clamp for my 940.

Snapped off years ago! MOT man has never mentioned it. Quite a snug fit anyway.

If you could have a look for a bolt Luke that would be grateful. If not, would you know the dimensions of one so I can get someone to make one up for me.

I wouldn’t mind one depending on cost. Would you be trying to make a better solution than the current one? I’m not a fan of it.

The bolt has an m6 thread and looks same as on bmws. A bit better really as their ones have a standard hex head rather than the eyelet thing.
