Default How do I reset SRS light? (‘95 940 diesel)

Hi all,
I have just replaced the steering wheel on my diesel 940 and foolishly took it for a test drive without the airbag fitted to check alignment before reassembling it.

As a result, despite refitting the airbag correctly subsequently, the SRS light is now on...I’ve come across all manner of conflicting info on how to reset it and am now somewhat confused! I don’t have the OBD1 unit on the strut tower as per the petrol cars so can’t reset it that way.

Any ideas would be very gratefully received! I’m enjoying having a non-disintegrating steering wheel, but the light is just staring at me and doing my head in as I like thing to be right...thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Phil

I have a feeling the SRS light can only be turned off using the genuine Volvo diagnostic tool.

On my 97 and 98-ers the light can be reset by using vol-fcr. Just use google to find it

hi phil
i too replaced my steering wheel many years ago but did not have any problem with the SRS light . have you tried just disconnect the battery for 20 minutes to see if the fault goes away .
the post before mine will hopefully get to the bottom of the problem .i used the fault finder to find the fault on my ABS light stuck on . it told me which wheel had a failed ABS sensor .
there are not lots of us with this model car you have resolved some things ive been trying to fix for years ,if you woud like to contact me to further our discussion my email is jimliddy1@gmail.com
it woud be good to eventually talk to you about a few things on our model cars
regards jim

Vol-FCR is only applicable for 97/98ers as they have the OBD-like connector in the middle console.

This topic is about a 95 940 and it should have the led diagnostic box under the hood.

My 1996 car has the OBD port in the centre console.

Phil ( the OP ) has also stated that his 95 car ( a diesel ) doesn't have the led box in the engine bay.
