Fuel pump failure?
I was driving along in traffic when my 2008 v50 2.0D cut out. I managed to start it again but it cut out again. No error messages on dash just dead. I think my fuel pump is knackered but how do I test it? Can anybody tell me if theres a slave pump in the tank and the easiest way to remove it? The local garage said the pump is in the tank and would have to replace them both. Surely this isn't right. Any help appreciated

You might just have air in the system.
I don't believe you have an in tank pump on the 2.0

No pump in the tank, check your codes,
could be your fuel pressure sensor, try disconnecting it and see if it makes a difference |

Pressure bleed your system first, get rid of all of the bubbles, then think about other things.

You need a large pump. You won't do it by a small hand pump.
Al did mine when we fitted the fuel filter, and it took around 1 litre of fuel to pass through before the bubbles ceased.
