Today I removed the silver headlamp bezels and used t-cut to remove the silver to reveal nice very shiny black plastic.
Looks loads better, roll on next week for the black indicators/ fog lamp kit and splitter from Gatos. |

Been out for an hour today, fitted the other 2 door cards, steering wheel, soldered 3 speaker connections on, fitted the speakers and fitted my new number plates
Before: After: New steering wheel needs a clean, along with the rest of the interior! Got to say, the stereo sounds spot on with all 4 speakers working now!

I have a complete set of piano black bits in the loft, including the steering wheel, which 'might' be fitted into my car at some point, but I really like the wood effect trim. Gary

I have the Cyborg in mine and did toy with the idea of changing to piano black. Thing is the silver/green of the Cyborg is almost identical to the colour of my car. I just wish they had made a steering wheel with the Cyborg trim to finish it off

Just the glove box, gear stick surroung and door trim. I may be wrong, so if someone could confirm or deny, that would be good. Gary

Get one with wood effect trim and mask off the rest of the wheel, sand the wood bit down and spray it silver. Let it dry and apply several coats of lacquer. Rub it over with wet 2000 grit and dry off before polishing. Silver trimmed wheel. Gary

What did I do to our x40 today.
I cleaned our S40 for the first time today since before Xmas - shame on me - haven't finished it yet as it needed doing properly.
In a darkish metallic red (don't know what the colour is called), with black leather...has the wood effect trim also - dash, gear knob, door cards, but it is very dark - smoky brown!!! Post some pics tomorrow if interested. Prufrock. |
