Refitting headlamp wiper arm
No car I've ever owned has made it easy to remove/ replace the wiper arm on its spindle. The headlamp wiper arm on my 98 S40 is fitted about 10-20 degrees out and I can't even see what to do let alone pluck up the courage to do it. Can anybody advise on its removal/ replacement without snapping or stripping anything? Thank you.

here goes... lift up the trim cover then slacken and remove the wiper arm retaining nut.lift the blade off the headlight then pull the wiper arm off its spindle and disconnect the washer hose. if necessary carefully ease the arm off the spindle using a pair of grips. hope that helps scott |

"Lift up the trim cover then slacken and remove the wiper arm retaining nut. Lift the blade off the headlight ..."
Thank you. All that went well! "... then pull the wiper arm off its spindle ... if necessary carefully ease the arm off the spindle using a pair of grips." No luck so far. The usual horrible mixture of completely unshiftable brittle fragility. But thanks very much for the procedural hints. Spot on. I'll set to again tomorrow after some overnight WD40. Fergus |
