12v Sockets not working
All 3 of my 12v Sockets are not working, after using a dodgy 2 into 1 adapter.
All 3 15A fuses are ok Any help welcome. XC90 MY 2017 Last edited by HairyMonster; Dec 31st, 2021 at 16:05. |

Small fuse for accessory sockets will have blown. Is in fusebox under bonnet against bulkhead. Not near car atm but fuse type and exact position is within the manual.
Hmm just reread your post with glasses on this time. Have you checked the fuse i refer to under the bonnet? This deffo sounds the culprit as have blown this myself on a couple of occasions. |

Did you use a multi meter or bulb to do a continuity test on the fuses, sometimes these micro fuses look ok but are blown, strange that all 3 are not working as they are on separate fuses, makes me think that there must be a common circuit breaker feeding them.
Incidentally I blew the front 12 volt socket fuse dropping a USB socket in it, the fuses 24/25 were labelled incorrectly in the engine bay fuse box (wrong way round) (These may be numbered differently on newer cars)

Hopefully it's the Accessory Power Relay 30765045. (£15.45 from ebay) Last edited by HairyMonster; Jan 1st, 2022 at 13:00. Reason: ebay |

12v accessory sockets not working
I have the same problem on my October 2019 V90 D5. The 12v 'lighter' sockets on the centre console and in the boot both stopped working when I tried to use a 12V tyre compressor, which I have successfully used before.
The two 15A fuses in the under-bonnet fuse box are both visually OK and I have tried changing one of them. I have also changed the accessory relay, which I assume is the one immediately next to the fuses. There must be some other fuse or breaker which provides power to both sockets or to relay coils. For diagnostic purposes, the compressor works perfectly when plugged into the socket of my neighbour's BMW. Other accessories won't work in my sockets, so the problem is clearly in my V90 somewhere. My multi-meter has died and I am waiting for a new one from Amazon, so I can test the contacts in the fuse box. Has anyone an further ideas what I can look at? |

Just a thought, are you using the same device to check all three sockets, there is a fuse in the 12v plug on the device which may have blown, unscrew the tip of plug to remove fuse.

12V sockets still not working
I still haven't been able to get my 12V sockets working. Fuses 24 and 26 in the under-bonnet fuse box are both OK. I have examined them tested them and tried replacing them.
Using a test meter with the negative lead connected to the main earth connection (jump start post) I have probed the fuses 24 & 26 in the fuse box with the ignition on and there doesn't seem to be any voltage on either side of them. I have also changed what I believe is the accessory relay, next to the fuses and have opened the relay and held the contacts closed. There must be another fuse/circuit breaker in the circuit somewhere that feeds fuses 24 & 26 (25 is not used on my model). The car has a power saving feature that turns things off (including the sockets) a set number of minutes after the ignition is turned off and I wonder if this is related? I have been unable to locate any circuit digrams for the car online and they are not included in the online Haynes manual. Volvo seems to be preventing any publication other than through the latest 2015MY onwards VADIS subscription. Does anyone have access to this who could look at the circuit for me (or send me the diagrams)? All other circuits in the car are working properly. |
