Default Indicator stalk and SAS related?

Afternoon all,

May sound like a daft one, but sometimes the indicator doesn't registered ive turned it on, could this be linked to a faulty sas thats potentially causing another issue?

V70 D5 2WD

As always any help/advice gratefully received

Sounds like a DIM (guage cluster) issue. The solder joints crack on the PCB. When this fails you can get intermittent airbag errors, and other problems like the high beam indicator not coming on, the indicator status lights not coming on.

It's a common problem on these cars. https://volvodiagnostic.com/ offer a repair service.

Ah ok, any chance you think this could also relate to the parking sensor light switch, dtsc, electronic folding mirrors? As sometimes these leds do not illuminate, or is that a separate issue all together? 🤣

It could be just the indicator switch in the stalk that needs cleaning, recently had to clean mine for a second time , all be it after a number of years between the cleaning's.

you can normally tell if its the switch that's the problem if you just push it a little harder which ever way its moving and the indicators start working.

There is a thread on her about doing it. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=281234

and couple of howto's I found.
