Default Which OBD software can read transmission temperature?

I have an OBD diagnostic device called ELM327.

With the Car Scanner app on Iphone it does not show transmission temperature.

The car is a Volvo S80 2002. with the GM 4T65EV transmission.

Any experiences about this?

Or may I go for a VIDA-DICE clone device on Aliexpress, it is USD80?
Or any budget device around this price which can read this?

I don't know about other dice clones but can confirm the vcx nano works and with the right vx manager tool installed is totally compatible with vida

It didn't work with vdash when I tried to reprogram a module myself but apparently there is some way around that I recall reading somewhere .. not relevant to what you're trying to do but might be relevant in future

you only get what you pay for . vida can be a little more expensive but if your sticking with volvos its a must have. boot and go is available. but you will still need an interface cable

in fairness it's only the tool that's expensive, you can download VIDA itself for free, I'm not sure exactly what the legality on that is but everyone seems to do it

most folk tend to go for a preloaded system as vida can be a challenge for most. we know its the most expensive route but at least you can be up and running quickly. there are several forum members who have toiled long and hard to get vida up and running and . some have given up and some are still trying.but its worth it in the end . then the next problem is learning how to use it

iCarsoft VOL V2.0 should be able to read the transmission temperature as it has live data capabilities

Next time I plug mine in I will check but a quick look online says yes...

I can confirm this tool works on Windows 10 (with Microsoft Edge IE11 compatibility mode, .NET framework 3 and 4 installed.)
It is a J2534 scanner. It works with the oem software and reads TCM with the tranny temp. Just bought for 50EUR on Black Friday. Amazing deal.

Oh wow you have the worst gearbox of them all. Trust me if you have any doubts it has issues, it will likely need to be rebuilt. Those are notorious for failing regardless of driving style.

Still there are some OBD pids you can add to check to check TCM temps, but I am not sure if they are the same across the AW55 and GM trannys.
