check the oil level is around 3/4's and is not rising with the DPF, general other P1 pitfalls are bearings, noises from the suspension going over bumps, generally most of the rest is common sense.

they have a DPF if it is stopped anywhere during regen the oil level would rise resulting in fuel contaminating the oil and rising it over max hence why it is required to be MAX 3/4 full otherwise you should get a warning.

Check the air condition works properly - the condenser unit in these models are (were?) prone to getting damaged. Also check the clutch (dmf) system is working properly as these are (were?) prone to failing. Both failures can cost circa £1k each to repair.

And yes, I'm talking from experience having owned a V50 2.0d (57).

Condensor was/is not 1k, although they did offer for sometime a foc scheme.
Due to the seams failing mainly.

The clutch is a bit weak in some circumstances (depending on whose clutch is in there luk are much better) on the 2.0d but not so much the d5.

DMF should not really be confused with a clutch either, now they are "more common" across many engines not just diesels. The only thing is when a dmf begins to fail/ has failed then people change the clutch to, or if it's a clutch problem check the dmf max 25mm otherwise replacement to.

it depends how you define very light...hmm...

the trip computer is easy up until 2010 they were not standard, if you have the scroll wheel on the left and it just goes blank or goes DSTC then you will not have it.
