2004 XC90 D5 SE Manual G'box

considering selling our 2004 XC90

its a 2004 D5 SE with manual gearbox
light metallic green with cream leather
we've had it since August 2009, coming up 4 years and its been brilliant. no major problems and no breakdowns

its got FSH early life at Volvo and later in life independent volvo and my trusted local garage.

mileage is 102k miles and rising by 50 miles a day

its due MOT in the next few weeks and will get a pair of front tyres for that.

will be due a service in august too and for the right price i can do that, or i can leave it if someone prefers to do it themselves and save the cash

it has a detachable towbar

it had a new clutch in late 2010 along with clutch slave cylinder (can check history for dates/mileage)
also the bevel gear sleeve that fails on the rear wheel drive was changed at the same time. we've never experience loss in rwd but for £125 for the parts it seemed silly not to get it done while in there doing the clutch

conditions is pretty good for year, paintwork is great, couple of carpark dents from the school run, sadly, but its very presentable and tidy.
wheels are good condition.

i can follow up with pics during the week, i just polished and cleaned it and applied all the black trim stuff (autoglym vinyl trim stuff) and it looks great.

it looks basically identical to this pic that was taken last summer after a good clean polish etc..

looking on autotrader prices for 2004 manual's seem to start at £6500 and rise...

i'll start negotiations at £6500
considering full MOT in the next few weeks, FSH and new tyres, i think its reasonable

no response...price too high? or just the fact its a manual?

The fact it is a manual will put alot of people off as most were sold as autos, I think all new ones are autos only.

A lot more pictures of both inside and outside will help.

It is also the summer holidays so I guess a lot of people are not really thinking about buying cars.

These are not cheap cars to run and you need some spare cash to fix any problems which might come up. I therefore think that a lot of people might want to spend a bit more buying one which is newer and has a warranty.

That's not to say your car won't sell at near the asking price but there is a fairly limited number of people who might want it and so might take a while. Dropping the price will increase the number of potential buyers.

yeah auto's are favoured, i cant argue with that but there are people occasionally looking for manual only, fingers crossed
pics will help, no question, just need to get round to it.

i agree not cheap, but nothing has kicked us in the nuts with this car, only out of the ordinary was as stone hit to the power steering fluid cooler that caused it to leak, not a cheap fix but out the ordinary and hopefully a one off

You really need to add some more pictures and also list what extras the cars has. It does look lovely and I'd snap it up if I was in the market at the moment.

There are at least two geartronic D5's on Autotrader with 100-110k on the clock and FVSH asking between £4-5k - so you may have to be very patient.
