4 x Wheel Alignment XC90
Hi All,
Just thought Id give you the benefit of my experience re my XC90 and wheel alignment. I took it for MOT a couple of weeks ago and my rear tyres are worn on the outer edge. The MOT station suggested 4 wheel alignment which they didnt do. I bought my slef a new set of Volvo wheels and tyres and decided to have the wheel allignment done. I went to Drury Lane Services (http://www.drurylaneservices.com/) I have to say the service was excellent, took 1 hour 20 mins and they provided a detailed picture of before and after. I was amazed at how much not just the front wheels but also the rear wheels were out! This clearly accounted for the wear on the outer edge of my rear tyres. The car even drives and handles better which I didnt expect. If you have new tyres or any wear problems I would really recomend having this done. I have my old alloys with tyres for sale on Ebay item number 300686315702 if anyone is interested. Cheers Eric |

I had mine done a few months ago - the front toe was out, but otherwise quite OK.
It makes a huge difference to the wear rate of your tyres though, id recommend having it done every 12m with your MOT.

Definitely something worth doing.
Is there any specific place or specific tracking that needs doing to the car. Volvo told me that my tracking was slightly out 6 months ago and it is definitely something I want to look into doing to preserve my tyres. Don't know that I really fancy paying Volvo £140 to do it though. Is there a website that you can track down a good company in your local area. How much did it cost to have it done? |

mine cost me 38£ all 4 wheels. Done properly with printout before and after.
There is no point doing only front wheels on XC90 awd. And i agree it needs 2 be done every 12m. 38£ is small price to pay-if u get more out of ur tyres and better mpg. also ur bushes will last longer without that extra tyre drag when not done. In some cases u will get anti skid service light. look after ur VOLVO and it will look after u Last edited by artis; Jul 21st, 2014 at 17:48. |

That sounds a very fair price for 4 wheel alignment, was it the proper laser (Hunter or similar) alignment? If so, where did you take it?
Hope you don't mind me asking. I took mine to a place in Bolton last time, I'm sure it was about £60 to £70, they did seem to do a thorough job though, with printouts etc. |

wow that is a big difference to what Volvo charge.
I remember saying on here saying there was a search to find a proper alignment company in an area near you. I am guessing I have a look for the Hunter system. |

Yup, the average price in Glasgow (well the 3 I have found) for the Hunter 4 wheel alignment is circa £85.
£38 sounds very cheap.

price seems reasonable, mine was a mile out and they said the XC90 is quite heavy on tires and the tracking can go out of spec within a year.
