Engine: D5: - D5 Intercooler options

Hi,
On my '53 S60 (122K) the intercooler has a leak - other than buying a new one from Rufe (around £210-215) are there any other options? I just dont like the thought of buying another valeo intercooler!!!

Hmm, no update

Personally I'm not convinced of that repair. You'll just end up trying to force the same amount air compressed air through a smaller flow path. Somehow it doesn't stack up in my mind. You want to be making the flow more efficient not more restricted.

Hi, he did say it had been fine for 6 months. As for restriction , yes it cannot be as good as an undamaged one but if it keeps you on the road for very little money its worth a thought.

Personally, i would fit a new one.

Serck radiator services can re-core intercoolers. All their work is guaranteed and there should be a depot near you (have a look in the yellow pages). I have had radiators done by them in the past, and have always had first class service.

Used them before and been great value for money
