I have been looking at alternatives to my Conti SC2s and considered the F1s. The only that puts me off is the wear factor, a lad at work has had them on his Fiesta and they have gone on the front after 7k. I think I will replace with CSC2s.

In my opinion, the Pirelli tyres that Volvo seem to insist on fitting are appalling! They are very prone to causing/enhancing any tramlining and are very average in the wet. I have had them on 3 Volvos now (850 T5, V70R AWD and now V70R) and I hate them with a passion.

I put Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tyres on the last one and can't wait to get a set on my new car. They are just as good as the Mich Pilot Sports if not better and are cheaper too! They are streets ahead of any of the Pirellis!

Does anyone know if it is only the Goodyear F1s which might rub on full lock.

Sounds like the Pirellis never do, which might be why Volvo use them, but there is not a lot of love for them.

Sounds like the shortlist is Dunlop, Contis or Michelins. Previous experience of the Michelins for me were too noisy, got Contis on an Audi and not in love so will take a look at Dunlop when the time comes.

I've only heard about the F1s rubbing but that's an interesting question.

I've tried Continental SportContacts (original equipment), F1s and Pilot Sport 2s. Of those three only the F1s rubbed.
Hopefully others can add a few definite answers for other brands.
