S40 V40: - air bag light is on and not had a bump

Hi, i got a volvo v40 and the air bag light is on, it has not been in an accident and the air bags have never been deployed, the only thing i can think of is back a few months ago when i was driving down a dual carriageway, there was a loud noise in the drivers side wheel arch, i think it was a stone flicked up by the wheel, the air bag light was not on before this.
The garage i use put it on the machine that resets it and it just comes back on, when i start the car it goes off for a second and then reapears, has anyone had this problem and how can i fix it please !!!!!!

Had this on my 2004 S40 - turned out that a connector under one of the seats needed tightening. Cost me £70 at Harratts (won't go there again). Check the cables under the front seats - if they are ok then search for other airbag posts on here.

If the airbag light is on the whole system is deactivated.

That is why I bought the Eu702 for 100ish pounds. And it has already reset quite a few SRS lights....
