Steering rack ends

Can anyone help me. My mechanic tells me I need to replace the steering rack ends - is there another common name for this part/item

Check whether he means track rod ends or steering rack to track rod ball joints. Both are likely knackered but the first is a lot easier than the second.

Track rod ends are available over here for £5 a piece new.
