Default advice and items much needed!

hello
i have become a v70 owner for all of about 12hrs now.
love the car but its a bit bare inside (former cop car!)

so
where the cupholders are in the centre console is a black blanking panel and no idea if there is any cup holder underneath.

it only has am/fm/cd/aux no phone or bluetooth so i am wondering the path to sorting this out.

the lcd is fine but again since only minimal functionality it can only do so much.

so my question is this.

where do i go from here in terms of modernising the unit, can it be replaced or upgraded? can the main lcd panel be replaced with a media unit that does the bells and whistles but still be controlled via the console in some way.

i have a boot button next to the fuel cap button but i dont think it does anything! (unless it unlocks the boot whilst youre in the car.

the silver dash panel where the vents are. can it be replaced (full of screw holes from its crime fighting days i guess,

same for the silver surround of the centre console (many holes) and there is no cig lighter there either the only one i have is in the back behind the centre console.

there are less annoying things like the dog guard doesnt stay up the gas struts have weakened so they fall down. it also needs a parcel shelf

other than that i love the car!

ill calm down now

ta!

From reading other thread from ex police car owners, all this is correctable if you are prepared to put in the work and spend money. On the plus side, you may have the police Polestar performance level that was not available on civilian cars!

time is fine i dont plan on selling it.

to be honest the biggest issue right now is that i cannot charge my phone from the front there is no cig lighter port, and no cup holder, 1st world problems!

it would be nice to upgrade the unit to be able to hand phone calls and media.

would one of those pioneer or similar double din units fit into the dash where the lcd screen is now?

wont lie the speakers are mint

Research by all means, but I would be inclined to put a few miles on it to flush out any (potentially expensive) Gremlins which might currently be hiding.

Learn to fully love it first, then throw money at the "toys" etc.

That wouldn't be one of those "wriggling" warranties would it ??

well..

bought it from m5 cars in oldury (basically underneath the m5 near j2 in brum)

i live in abergavenny and have a trusted mechanic in brynmawr and its going to him on sunday to give it a good look and repair anything but give it a full services irrespective of what the dealer told me...

i did do the mistake though of phoning the local volvo dealer for advice...

900 quid to upgrade my stereo

90 quid for the centre console cup holders which i am missing too

40 quid for the volvo sticker on the grille logo!

if you guys know where i can get these without selling an organ would be much appreciated!
