Volvo 1998 alarm problem
Hi i have an 1998 Volvo s70 with the original volvo alarm. When i lock the car all the doors lock, the turn indicators flashes once and the LED diode in the dash flash normally. But when i trigger the alarm all the turn indicators flashes and i can hear a ticking sound inside the car, proparly a relay or something, but i cant hear any sound from the alarm horn. i have an little round horn above the engine, on the firewall.
I know the horn is working, because i have tested it on my other volvo, but on my s70 and my alarm is going of, it doesnt make any sound. i have tried to tightened the nut and everything, without any success. does anyone know what the problem could be? and maybe know where the wiring to the horn from a relay or a unit or something? or does anyone know what i can do, and know what the problem could be? I have also read a lot about relay 210/211, but when im looking in the central electrical unit i dont have those. but i can see im missing relay 206. |

The relay that sounds the alarm horn is 202 (component 2/77 on the wiring schematics), this is located in the relay box near the windscreen on the drivers side of the car on the part that hangs down under the fuse/ relay box (not easy to get to) - Mike

mikealder is right, the 202 relay is responsible for the horn and is on the topmost row the second from the left. It looks like a normal worker relay so I think a regular relay should work.
