Hyper-intrest
At this moment a friend in North Carolina is en route to examine a 2014 V40 with ~40,000 miles. He drives 240's. One saved his life when a youthful texter in a pick up truck hit him at a red light traveling at 40-45 mph.
I am on my second V70. So together we know not a thing. He's helping a reasonably auto-savvy female neighbor who is new to Volvos. I gave the thread titles a quick glance and haven't found any red flags yet. I'm going back to the threads but am asking for casual facts, experiences and rumors regarding the V40. As always remember, they don't let us play with diesel engines here. Kira |

Are you sure it is a V40 and not a V60 because as far as I know the current V40 (2012 onward) is not sold on the North American market.

BINGO
You are correct. I was mistaken (truly fuzzy cell phone connection). It was a 2015 V60 T5 and I just spoke with my friend again. The car exhibited thick aluminum oxidation under the hood. We both could only guess it was living near the ocean. Turns out this V60 was her first stop car shopping and she passed on it. So thanks for answering. |
