Greens purples gray are speakers and you should have 2 of each if you dont have an amp in the boot or under the seat.

Power will go something like this

Red live
Black ground
Yellow switched live
Blue antenna power cable or amp remote cable

The standard speakers are made by Alpine the same as the cd changers. I would suggest fitting the rear pillar speakers and adding an original amp, come and have a listen to mine Andy and see what you think. The original speakers are an odd size and you will need adaptor plates to fit aftermarket speakers.

The speaker wires will be connected to the Volvo fitted amplifier, the input to the amplifier is the six pin DIN plug, to connect a normal stereo to this will require the new stereo to be equipped with RCA outputs often refered to as "Pre-Outs" (those red and white phono plugs/ sockets often found on the back of home HiFi units). Make sure the new head unit has front AND rear pre-outs, some only have one intended for feeding a sub, units with a single pre-out/ RCA are no use to you.

To connect the RCA outputs from the stereo you will need an RCA to six pin DIN socket, into this you plug the six pin DIN plug floating around inside the hole where the stereo used to be. One of the pins for the six pin DIN is the amp remote power signal, you will need to connect this to the new stereo remote amp enable wire.

I can post up a wiring diagram of the addapter cable later tonight if that is of any help, you can get the bits from Maplins and make the lead yourself (assuming you know how to use a soldering iron) - Mike

Putting the rear pillars in made a huge difference, but I'm gonna replace the rear door speakers sometime because they are a bit rattly. Just other things keep getting in the way.
