Well gentlemen, I have a really strange central locking problem on my 855. All has been well until last Thursday. Remotes lock/unlock the car set the alarm/immob etc.
Got home Thursday night from work, parked car as usual and walked away pushing the remote button and did not hear the telltale clunk of doors locking. Went indoors and got spare key/remote and tried that with same result. After more investigation the following happens 1. Key in door will lock all doors but will not set alarm 2. Push button on remote after locking with key and alarm activates 3. Use remote when car is locked and doors unlock and alarm deactivates 4. None of the above actions lock/unlock tailgate, this has to be done with key. 5. Unlocking/locking tailgate will lock/unlock all doors on the car so Far I have 1. removed fuse 6 & 16 and replaced as per thread on here somewhere 2. Reprogrammed fobs several times with the 5 turn method 3. Disconnected battery in an attempt to reset all systems on the car. None of the above have altered anything The only thing I have done differently was Thurs I used my wife's Tom Tom and mounted near the windscreen pillar quite near to alarm sensor on door pillar Any suggestions greatfully received! |

take a look at the wiring from the tailgate to the body, its quite common for this to split and mess up the central locking.
regards cavey if you can take the plug off the lock in the tailgate, try the fob then, if it works fine then the problem is probably the wiring to the tailgate lock. Last edited by caveman; Jan 2nd, 2008 at 14:03. Reason: add. info |
