Deffo chrome, mate. Chrome says "class", "style", "elegance", and "solidity". Eggy says "cheap", "nasty", "bulky", and "fragile" to me. No contest.

Mind you, I may be in a crazy minority in that I prefer the look of the big front end, pre face lift 960s and all 940s over the facelift 960s. Can you imagine an eggy on a late 960? Uuurgh!

Egg crate on my dark grey 740 turbo was much nicer than the chrome on the red V70 and now dark blue 960 facelift.

Looks like Dunc's moved on to an 850 while the forum was away...

Indeed I have ascott1!

I still have the 940 (for now), but my hard earned cash is now being plowed into a very nice low mileage 850 Turbo.

I'm getting rid of a few of my nicer 940 mods, and so far, the egg-crage grille has been sold to the 900 register keeper, Peter Milnes.

Thanks to everyone for all your views and votes, at the time, it was really helpful!!!!!

I'm a bit late in finding this thread but I thought the eggy one looked awful, made the Volvo look just like any other boring car. Sorry to all those people who have replaced their traditional ones with eggy ones but I hate them!
