Lightbulb Mirrors angling during parking

I try to figured out if can we set in memory positions of mirrors when engage reverse gear. So far even if I have adjusted those mirrors to the angle I prefer it is just for once. Second try to engage reverse gear mirrors angling to preset position ignoring my changes.

I hope you get what I am trying to explain

I'm 99% certain that you cannot set your own preferred angle for reversing. It will always revert to the default position.

Seem to remember that this was discussed here on the forum 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe a search will find it.

You can’t unfortunately. They will just drop to the set position which I’m sure is great for average height people but when you’re 6ft5, all you’re looking at is the floor! Shame as in JLR cars with the same function, you can set the dip position based on driver profile

Are you doing it as suggested ?
  • Set the Wing Mirror Auto-dip on reverse, to off.
  • Set and save a spare memory seat button, to the same seating position, but the required mirror position you want when in reverse.
  • When you need to reverse, press the relevant seat memory button and the mirror should adjust to the required/saved position, (while not moving the seat, as this is set the same)
  • Once finished reversing, press you're usual seat position button, to return the mirror to your usual desired position.

Not ideal, but it's less fuss than fiddling with the wing mirror on each reverse.

Excellent - why have I never thought of this? (No answers, please) Solves the problem that the angled mirror is good for parking, but not good if you're reversing some distance.

And Just for clarity:

"Angling during parking
A door mirror can be angled down for the driver to view the side of the road when parking, for example.
Engage reverse gear and press the L or R button.

Automatic angling during parking
With this setting, the door mirror is automatically angled down when reverse gear is selected. The folded position is preset and cannot be adjusted."
