Post 940 GL Clutch Slave Cylinder

Hi, any guidelines as to how to replace the Clutch slave cylinder on my 940 GL. Is it worth buying the service kit or just go for new cylinder.

I've not done one so can only give some general advice but what's the cost of the rebuild kit Vs the new cylinder? Bear in mind you'll get a guarantee with the new one as well. Then decide for yourself.
Good results can be had with a service kit but if the bore of the cylinder is damaged from whatever caused the seals to fail then you'll need a new cylinder anyway.

As the clutch and brakes share a reservoir, it's worth renewing the brake fluid in its entirity at the same time, especially if the fluid was a contributory factor in the clutch slave cylinder failing.

Easiest way is a Gunsons Easibleed, it even comes with the correct cap to screw onto the Volvo reservoir. Excluding the time it took to get the car in the air with the whels off, it took me about 20 minutes to change the fluid on mine.

I'm sure others will be along soon with more specific advice and possibly the offer of a known good secondhand cylinder which is another option.
