It’s worth noting that Volvo do a few care kit products which include screen wash. These are branded superguard products and the screen wash is not the same as the stuff available via the parts department. The stuff in the 1 litre cans is what you want. I use 100ml to a litre in summer and 200ml in winter. Never frozen up, no deposit's on the heated jets.

Next time you do it, Whiterdesign, you could drop a few flakes in white vinegar ca. 25%. If it starts to fizz and dissolve chances are it's timescale.

Limescale. Which is insoluble in alcohol. I suspect the Volvo screen wash is very concentrated alcohol and when added to water it precipitates any salts and or limescale that were dissolved in the water.
If you want to know what’s in your water your local water board will supply you with a full list of the dissolved salts and minerals and concentrations. |
