It hasn't sold in months at £10.5k, so the price increase is baffling.
Got a feeling the kids will be selling this eventually, probably with the plate, and for a whole lot less...

Doesn't include funky plate 2 VOL
It’s a lot of car and looks good. But that is a high price isn’t it.

... well, maybe.

Another lovely day in paradise.

:-)

PS. The motor car will qualify as an historic vehicle in 5 years time - it will be worth £4,000 then.

Gosh! I've just noticed this one is going through the sieve once again, I've lost track of how many times that is:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284954705...Bk9SR-DZqu3jYA

... it only has 3 months MoT left now, if the seller keeps holding out for £4,000 it will run out before the motor car sells.

Was that the one Steve was interested in at East Anglia auctions?

Hi Alan,
No I don’t think it’s the one at ACA, if I recall correctly that one was a bright red one.
Barge looking great.
Cheers

The seller says he has had the 38/38 carburettors professionally set up, and they would appear to have a proper manifold, so that will not have been a cheap modification (maybe a grand with labour costs for fitting and tuning). I doubt very much that was anything to do with emissions problems, that was an expensive performance enhancement that the seller went out of his/her way to fit.

The point was the same as I'd raised a few days ago about people wasting money on bling stuff when there are much more important (but more mundane: rust) issues to solve first.

I'll be surprised if this one makes much over £1,500, and I think it would still be a risk at that price.

People! :-)

PS. I suppose if it goes for £1,500 (and if the RB sells this week) I might buy it as the next project. The 2.3 litre motor I have would be good with that 38/38 carburettor set up. It won't qualify as an historic vehicle for another 5 years though, so perhaps not as I wouldn't enjoy paying another £1,500 in tax.

Bidding for this one seems to have stalled at £1,950 - which seems like more or less the right price to me. The auction has less than a day to go and I suspect the seller may be disappointed if he hold out for 4 grand.

:-)

If you're in Scotland, you're very lucky. I'd have this in a flash if I were 500 miles closer:
https://www.gumtree.com/p/volvo/volv...ors/1441595599
2.0 auto saloon '89, but RIGHT PRICE.

Long time since we've seen cars priced to sell.

Surely you could get a cheap flight to get you 500 miles closer?

Wave a bag of sand under his nose and i reckon you'd get it then use the £100 difference to pay for the fuel home

On closer inspection of the photos, it really does appear to be in excellent nick. MOT history is v.good, mileage shows typical declining annual useage until recommissioning 3yrs ago, so continious useage. Seller appears to have done useful things as opposed to furry dice mods, however they have clearly gone out of their minds selling this in preference for a Nissen, so I'd be cautious about toxic exhaust leaks...

For £1100, this could be the bargain of the year.
