You're going to get me in trouble with the missus. I would love a stainless but they are like rocking horse ****. Where could i get one for a D5. Most people wont touch diesels!!!

Thanks for all the advise, its great talking to someone who has the experience and has already done it all. I really appreciate it.
Cheers Mate

C30 must be worse cause of the bodykit... don't get any real issues in the S40 apart from exhaust clearance on inclines and driveways!

You could get a custom made one for £300-500 no probs for your D5.

If you do you can spec it up yourself prior to build... go easy on the Silencers, and it'll sound like Thor gargling Nails when you rev it

Same exhaust as mine.. but I have the middle silencer taken out so it's even louder - D5 would sound great with a SS exhaust.

Hi - I have a 2 320mm genuine discs, with caliper bolts, on eBay for £30 each.

If you search for:

Genuine Volvo S40 V50 C70 320mm Front Brake Disc 16.5"

That should give you the item.

Apologies if this post should be in the for sale area - if so, let me know and I'll remove it!

Cheers,

Alex

Let us know how you get on with that the idea with this is its a.straight bolt on shot no faffing about making it work it just will since volvo fit this stuff on the s40 and v50.
Also the promblem with using xc brakes is they have a larger center bore and won't sit on the hub you'd need shims to take up the flack the same as you need those 1mm rings to fit older wheels on the newer p1 platform cars. Which I'd let someone else try before I would.

Just reading though this post and have a few questions for some of you.

Would this conversion work on a 2008 2.0D S40?

Also would I need to change the rears too or is it not needed or can I change them anyway for bigger ones?

Also the ones in this link from another post

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en

Are they genuine parts or aftermarket but as good as genuine ford parts as found on the ST ( That’s if this conversion fits a 2.0D )

Also does it matter what year of ST it comes from as long as its not the old ST170? (original shape focus)
