It depends entirely on the corrosion, easy to look at that before handing over the cash. But if it's not tht bad, get some MOTIAC on that corrosion and run it til it dies.

Do you guys not know anything about bangernomics?
I for one am well aware of bangernomics. I bought my current V40 11 years ago for £800 blind on ebay. 90,000miles with full Volvo history. It has served me well over the years and other than routine servicing has not needed any major expenditure. Now on 180,000 totally reliable miles and probably worth £1000 - £1200 if I was to offer it for sale. Even at bangernomics level I always look for a genuine car being sold by someone who has owned it for sometime and knows the basics.

That 960 has not been described honestly, even 940 appears in the blurb. It’s described to deceive. Will drink like Oliver Reed in a desert is masked with incomplete data.
Nobody minds flipping to make a bob or two but this not an honest advert.

A heads up, a rather nice looking and well priced 144 on the 144 for sale section and advertised on c and c, seller will take an offer from genuine Volvo enthusiast. No connection just gutted I've got nae loot just now or I think I'd have been down to see it, as had been my intention a few month ago. Its all about timing, ain't it!!

Edit, this was a lazy post, here is the link...

I've always wanted an eight wheeler 'go anywhere' shopping trolley. I will also take the recliner chair as will be exhausted perusing all the bargains and will need a rest.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the auction for this quite nice S90, which I think is a 960:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286051651...mis&media=COPY

… it looks pretty tidy and has a few months MoT remaining. Its MoT history is a bit patchy, but we’ve certainly seen much worse, and has about 145,000 miles. I don’t know much about the 960, so I was surprised that bidding only got to £902, not meeting its reserve.

Whilst this looks like a nice enough motor car, I suppose it is just at the nadir of its value: the fuel consumption will be pretty poor, the tax will be quite expensive and it won’t qualify for a tax exemption until 2038 - so probably never.

I don’t know whether the seller will re-advertise or accept the £902. It seems a pity, but this motor car is just not worth much and probably never will be.

When pay per mile/road pricing or whatever you choose to call it comes in there goes the VED exemption anyway as all vehicles will have it to pay. That only leaves the stupid MoT exemption [that never should have been allowed]in place for "classic" cars.
