OTA software update disabled

Hi forum members.

I'm a proud owner of an EX30 but am unable to update from 1.4 to the latest version because I can not enable software updates in the EX30 app.

It says disabled and is greyed out with no option to change to enabled.

Can anyone help?

I have reset the car profile, reinstalled and reconnected the app to the car again but I can not enable software updates anywhere.

Daft question, but are you trying this in the car or on the app?

No. It's in the app when you click the car icon, at the bottom it should have an option to enable the updates. Mine is set to disabled, greyed out and can't be changed.

I have logged the issue with Volvo and my local dealer but no one's has got back to me.

What do you get in the car if you go:-

Car icon
Settings
System
Software Update

?

I think in the app it doesn't let you change it, it just displays what is set in the car. Mine says enabled, but is also greyed out, so I cannot change it to disabled in the app. I think this is set in the car.

It shows:

1.4
Software up to date

If I touch on that it shows the release notes for Version 1.4 released 19 June

The woman who took my call at Volvo had an EX30 and told me her app had the option to enable or disable.

Try Profile and then Privacy in the app. You can usually enable it there.
The switch you refer to seems to be missing on many people’s app.

Not sure if it is the same issue but on other forums I have read that this is an Android thing. People solved it by lending an Iphone.
