Default 2003 XC90 Petrol Dashboard Won't Illuminate

XC90 Mk1 Petrol dashboard 2003 model.
The dashboard went out on a hot day followed by strange acceleration.
Next day in cooler weather it worked fine. Anyway after researching it on here, it's a common problem in the heat so I sent it off to be repaired, rebuild for £100.
Got it back this morning (cool day) and plugged it in thinking problem solved but no lights on dash other than the engine management light.

Could I get a used dash from an identical car with same part number from a scrappy and will it be compatible with my car electrics?

Any other ideas what could be the problem. Would a Volvo dealer £200 computer diagnostics test tell me exactly what's wrong so I don't go randomly replacing any more parts?

Hi, I would use Volvo diagnostics at Thurrock for diagnosis and repair of modules
It may be worthwhile a drive there to see lucasz who should sort your problem at a reasonable price.

They have vida and can diagnose/fix modules.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that. They seem to be the guys and I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow.
