S80: - ETM Software upgrade & clean no longer free - Page 2

The software upgrade and ETM clean was no longer free as of 01/10/08 as Volvo UK changed their process so any good will gestures are now down to the dealer and not Volvo UK. This does mean that you would be lucky to have a free clean and software upgrade now (I tried on 04/10 by contacting Volvo UK and they informed me of the above). In the end I had my ETM replaced by my local Volvo garage for £270, they ordered the part on the Monday and it was fitted on the Tuesday (no wait for me!).
I'm not sure about Magneti Marelli going out of business as they still seem to be updating their website and sponsoring plenty of motorcycling events, and as far as Volvo were concerned they are still making the replacement ETM units for them

i really think its time that someone set up in business repairing etm's with a permanent magnetic fix.
The technology is out there but it just seems that nobody has really managed to get through to anyone in china to source them.
Ive tried numerous times but all unsuccessfully
